Josie Maran Foundation Set

On a few visits to Sephora, Josie Marans Matchmaker Foundation had caught our eye but we were a little skeptical with there only being 3 colours. As we are so pale we were a little worried that it might oxidise on the skin and leave us looking like oompa loompa's which was something we didn't want when it costs $42. This gift set caught our eyes as it contained the matchmaker foundation and a full size of the light pure argan oil (which we were both very keen to try out and itself retails at $48) and a full size powder foundation and cheek gelee. So when we saw this beauty at such great value we just couldn't help ourselves!

The first thing that we both tried from this set was the matchmaker foundation. This is described as a serum foundation and it applies white and then adjusts to the colour of your skin (we are shade fair/light). It is a fairly light coverage foundation that blends beautifully and also feels incredibly light weight on the skin and gives you a very natural dewy glow. Another great thing about this foundation is that it doesn't contain any nasties so you can wear it knowing that your skin is being nourished and hydrated along with no pore-clogging buildup. The powder foundation is also getting a lot of love from us as it works great as a stand alone powder foundation but it can also be paired with the matchmaker to give you a fuller coverage!

Ordinarily, the cheek gelee is a shade that we would not normally have picked up which is quite exciting as gift sets like this enable you to try out something different. We have the shade Poppy Paradise which is a pretty, vibrant pink/red. This is formulated with 50% coconut water and, as the name suggests, is a gel formula. The nice thing about this blush is that it is super blendable so if you accidently put too much on your finger/brush it can be buffed in with ease creating that perfectly flushed look. The final product in the set is the probably the most well known of her products. One of the main attractions to this set was the fact that not only is the oil a full sized bottle but it the light version. This oil can be used for pretty much anything, hair, skin, lips. The great thing about the light oil is that it still has all the same properties as the original oil but absorbs even faster, win win!

Unfortunately this set is no longer available online (you might be lucky enough to still catch one in store) but we would highly recommend the products individually if you can't manage to get your hands on the set. Josie Maran is also not available in stores in the UK but the brand is sold on QVC and as always you can order online at Sephora.
