Drugstore vs Department Store: Rimmel & Bobbi Brown

Ever since we first tried the Bobbi Brown gel liner, we have loved it! It's our go to, so when we saw that Rimmel had released a new shade in their gel liner range, we thought we would see how it compares.

They both come in similar packaging, nice small pots however the Bobbi is glass and the Rimmel is plastic so there is a bit of a weight difference. The Bobbi has 3g of product, and the Rimmel comes in at 2.4g so even though there is slightly less in the drugstore pot, with the price difference were not complaining.

Now they both wear brilliantly, they lasted all day with no flaking, smudging, smearing or creasing. They also both have a really creamy consistency. The Rimmel is more liquidy and has more of a sheer, buildable colour. We would say the colour is more of a dark olive.

Now the Bobbi is more solid and has a deeper more dark spring green colour. Although it's not as liquidy as the Rimmel, you still have some time to play around with it and get it just right before it dries. As it is a long-wear product, theres no need to touch up during the day, as once it sets it's going nowhere.

One extra bonus with the Rimmel is that it comes with a liner brush to apply the liner with.

We would still have to go with the Bobbi as our favourite, but for the price the Rimmel is a very good gel liner. The Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner comes in at £17.50 and the Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Gel Liner comes in at £6.99.
