Deborah Lippmann Mermaid Collection

Do we all remember that Deborah Lippmann 'The Mermaids' Collection from a couple years back? Well the highstreet has caught up and there are now a couple of dupes floating around the drugstore.

Now the original 'Mermaids Dream' is quite blue in comparison to the drugstore dupes, this is probably due to the larger volume of glitter in the polish. Only 2 coats are needed for opacity and it dries super quickly, so a perfect polish if you are needing a quick manicure. It looks good with a matte or gloss top coat, so go with your preference and it will look beautiful! We would definitely recommend prepping your nails before hand and using a base and top coat as this is not a long-wearing polish.

The No7 dupe is from their new spring/summer collection. It is the closest match to the Deborah Lippmann, however it does need 3 coats to be opaque. The size of the No7 brush is nice and thick whick makes aplication a breeze! It also has a slightly more glossy finish than the Deborah Lippmann, mainly due to there being less glitter flecks.
From left to right - Revlon, Deborah Lippmann, No7

The Revlon polish is from their new 'Perfumerie' collection and is called 'Watermint'. It is the sheerest of the lot after one coat and has the least glitter flecks. However this polish does have another unique selling point, once applied it smells like mint. Unlike previous scented polishes we've tried from revlon, this only smells like mint and there is no underlying classic polish scent. You could get away with 2 coats of this polish but 3 works even better.

In our opinion we would still say that the Deborah Lippmann comes out on top with the No7 being the closest dupe to it in terms of glitter and finish. However we love the scent of the Revlon and the glossier finish.
